Expert Directory Privacy Notice

This notice explains how YPV LLC ("Your Pura Vida," "we," "us") collects and uses the personal information of individuals associated with the businesses listed in our expert directory. We are a company incorporated in Wyoming, United States. We process this information in accordance with Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 on the Protection of the Person in the Processing of their Personal Data and other applicable laws.

1. What this directory is

Your Pura Vida maintains a curated directory of service providers (the "Directory") that helps our members — people scouting or relocating to Costa Rica — find vetted local businesses such as legal, financial, healthcare, real estate, and relocation services. The Directory is shown to paying members of our platform.

2. Who is responsible

YPV LLC is responsible for the Directory database. For any question or request regarding your information, contact us at privacy@yourpuravida.com.

3. Information we hold about you

• The name and role of the contact person for the business.
• Business contact details such as email address, phone or WhatsApp number.
• Business information: company name, description, service categories, towns served, languages, and website or social links.
• A business logo or photo, where you provide one.
• Internal notes about our communications and the status of your listing.

4. How we obtained your information

We obtain this information directly from you (for example, when you submit your details through our listing form), from prior communications with you, or from publicly available business sources. We typically contact you — often by WhatsApp — to verify that the information is accurate and that you wish to be listed.

5. How we use your information

• To display your business in the Directory shown to our members.
• To contact you to verify, correct, or update your listing.
• To facilitate introductions when a member wishes to connect with your business.
• To maintain the quality and integrity of the Directory.

6. Consent and legal basis

We rely on your consent to include your business in the Directory and to contact you about your listing. Our verification step is part of obtaining and confirming that consent. You may withdraw your consent and ask to be removed from the Directory at any time, as described below.

7. Who can see your information

Your business listing is visible to our paying members. Your information is stored and processed using service providers who act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, including Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), and Chatwoot / WhatsApp (messaging). Internal notes and your direct contact details are not published to members except as needed to facilitate an introduction you agree to.

8. International storage

We are based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or updated, to object to its use, and to withdraw your consent and request deletion (the rights of access, rectification, and deletion under Law No. 8968). To exercise any of these rights, or to be removed from the Directory, contact us at privacy@yourpuravida.com and we will act on your request.

10. Retention

We keep your information for as long as your business is listed in the Directory and for a reasonable period afterward to maintain our records, then delete or anonymize it.

11. Security

We use technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level database security — to protect your information.

12. Supervisory authority

You may contact Costa Rica's Agency for the Protection of Personal Data (PRODHAB) regarding the handling of your personal data.
